Pedagogy & Materials will provide an overview of Kodály-inspired philosophy and methodology with a grand scope and sequence as well as activities and tools for teaching basic musical concepts from a Kodály-inspired point of view as well as tried and true songs, games and activities that lend themselves to pedagogical use in a Kodály-inspired way!

Developing our personal musicianship is a unique facet to a Kodály institute program.  By gaining facility with sol-fa singing, rhythm reading, writing, and composing, as well as singing in canon with self and others we feel more prepared to ask the same thing of our students.

Choir gives us time to explore singing quality repertoire and a time to have effective warm ups demonstrated. Conducting will review fundamentals of simple and compound metres and give tips for basic score analysis to help build sequential rehearsals.

A time to reflect on the day and ask any questions that may have emerged from all the sessions.
